In Spain, Climate-KIC Accelerator, coordinated by AVAESEN (Asociación Valenciana de Empresas de la Energía), offers training and economic support for the best start-up related to the fight against climate change. The aim is to find innovative project that can be employed to mitigate climate change in any sector: energy, water, building, agriculture, production processes, trade, industry, sustainable cities, etc. The non-refundable financing reaches 60,000 Euros, with no acquisition of interest.
In the previous editions, KIC Accelerator Spain launched 46 start-up, with 15 new products introduced on the market, 170 supervised entrepreneurs, 30 new employments and a 95% survival rate.
The call is closing on April 4.
From this accelerator, many successful start-up have raised, such as Closca with its foldable helmet, which is available at the MOMA of New York and at the Design Museum of London, and boasts big clients like Google.
Also Evovelo, that commercializes an innovative solar vehicle, or Navlandis, with its foldable shipping container.
Encouraged by the European Institute of Innovation & Technology, Climate-KIC Accelerator offers international coaching, mentoring and masterclasses. The programme is open to teams with a minimum of 2 entrepreneurs willing to create a company in 2016, young companies up to 3 years or SMEs of any sector, working at new business models and/or technologies able to mitigate environmental impact.
In order to participate you have to prove that you have an innovative idea or product employable in any area of action of the climate change and with high growth potential and future global expansion. The programme seeks ambitious entrepreneurs and balances teams formed by a minimum of 2 people with an advanced level of English.
Climate-KIC Accelerator Spain lasts 9 month, from April to December, allows to the greatest European clean tech innovation network of the European Union, with more than 100 public and private partners, and to access specialised investors and an exchange programme with accelerators from New York, Singapore, Dubai or Paris.
