ITE will moderate a round table about the electric vehicle within the project SME of Climate-KIC

On March, 30, it will take place the final meeting of the project Smart Mobile Energy (SME) at Las Naves in Valencia, a place dedicated to innovation, whose Director, Rafael Monterde, will open the event and will welcome all the participants.

The event will continue with the intervention of José L. Muñoz-Bonet, the Director-General of the Climate-KIC Spain, which will do a presentation of the European initiative Climate-KIC, one of the knowledge and innovation communities against the climate change promoted by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.

The Instituto Tecnológico de la Energía (ITE) will coordinate the final round table at which important local people of the electric mobility, the energy and the climate change fields will be present. In addition to José L. Muñoz-Bonet, it has been confirmed the participation of Carlos Bergera Serrano, Director of Movilidad Verde of Iberdrola, José Vicente Latorre Beltrán, Head of department of IVACE-Energía, Vicente Torres Castejón, external adviser of the Sustainable Mobility Councillorship of the Ayuntamiento de Valencia, Eduardo Blanes, President of the Asociación Valenciana de Vehículo Eléctrico (AVVE), and Patricia Chirivella, product Manager of the company Gamesa Electric.

The meeting is organized in order to validate the results of the project Smart Mobile Energy, which aims at studying the possible business models associated with the development of the Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology, through which electric vehicles connected to the grid can give energy back to it to support its operation. SME intends to control the facilities of this technology in various locations such as universities, residential centers, car parks, labor centers or shopping centers in order to demonstrate the economic and environmental benefits it can bring to buildings, districts and cities.

The international consortium for the development of the project is led by the British agency Cenex and it is formed by the Instituto Tecnológico de la Energía (Valencia), the Technical University of Berlin, the Universidad de Valencia and Las Naves.

Smart Mobile Energy is a project co-funded by the Climate-KIC, the main European initiative against the climate change, through the call Pathfinder, and it is linked to the thematic area Urban Transition.

The event is free and those who are interested in participating can register through the platform Eventbrite or clicking here.
