ITE flies to London to participate in the consortium meeting of the project WiseGRID
On 23 and 24 February, the Instituto Tecnológico de la Energía (ITE) participated in the consortium meeting of the European project WiseGRID which took place in London in the facilities of the Queen Mary University.
After the kickoff meeting, the partners congregated again to work together on the definition of the system structure, of the cases of use and the legislative framework which affects the project. The consortium is led by GRUPO ETRA and, together with ITE, it is formed by companies and bodies from Spain, Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Greece, Romania and the United Kingdom.
WiseGRID (Wide scale demonstration of Integrated Solutions and business models for European smartGRID), framed within the programme H2020 funded by the European Unión, has two interrelated strategic aims which follow the lines of the inititive supporting it. On one hand, the project aims at putting successfully on the market a set of solutions and technologies which increase the intelligence, stability and safety of the European energy grids focused on final users. On the other hand, it is expected to produce a positive impact on the business and innovation models of the companies belonging to the consortium in order to contribute to the creation of jobs, to the access to new energy services for citizens and organizations, to the CO2 saving and to the promotion of renewable energies.
All the actions of the partners are focused on a greater use of storage technologies, an increase of the integration of renewable energies and an impulse to the integration and advance of the electric vehicle together with its charging infrastructure.
ITE participates in the Project sharing its knowledge on electricity grids and sustainable mobility, developing solutions which facilitate the integration of the electric vehicle in the grid, which improve the perception of users about the consumption of energy and which contribute to a safer and more reliable operation of the distribution grid.
The project WiseGRID is funded by the Programme H2020 of the European Union (G.A. N. 731205) within the call LCE-02-2016.
